Jeffrey A. Baruh is senior counsel at Adleson Hess & Kelly, P.C. Over the course of his 35-year career, Mr. Baruh has tried upwards of 100 cases to judgment, prevailing in the vast majority of them. He has obtained multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients, both through judgments after trial and settlements. In cases in which Mr. Baruh also recovered his client's attorneys' fees and costs as the prevailing party, he has invariably been awarded and recovered virtually all of the total attorney fees and costs incurred.

Mr. Baruh's practice encompasses a wide range of fields and subjects, including construction, real estate transactions, commercial leases, purchases and sales of businesses, partnership disputes, investment fraud (e.g., Ponzi schemes), estate and trust disputes, personal injury, inverse condemnation, trespass and nuisance (subsurface contamination), product liability, automotive sales, employment termination, distribution and royalty agreements, bankruptcy, creditor rights, unfair competition/intellectual property litigation,  trademark/tradename infringement, and insurance coverage.

Throughout his 35-year career, Mr. Baruh has also handled transactions, predominantly real estate, commercial leases, employment-related contracts, and purchases and sales of businesses. Many of the real estate and business purchase/sales involved over $10 million in assets.

Mr. Baruh has also been involved in the distilled spirits business for the past 30 years, both as an attorney and as principal of a liquor company. Over that time, Mr. Baruh has represented several distilled spirits companies in litigation and transactional matters.

Mr. Baruh was previously affiliated with long-standing Bay Area firms. From 1990-2008, prior to joining Adleson Hess & Kelly, Mr. Baruh was the co-managing partner and head of litigation at Bryant, Clohan & Baruh in Palo Alto. From 1985-1990, he was a partner at Goldstein, Barceloux & Goldstein in San Francisco. Mr. Baruh began his practice at Crist, Crist, Griffiths, Bryant, Biorn & Clohan in Palo Alto in 1979.  Mr. Baruh has achieved and retained an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale Hubbell [5.0 out of a 5.0 Peer Review Rating], the highest available rating for legal ability and ethics.

Mr. Baruh graduated from UCLA (cum laude) in 1976, and he obtained his law degree from the University of San Francisco in 1979. He was born and raised in San Francisco and has resided on the Peninsula for the past 24 years.
